Five arrested following trouble at home stay in Puttur

Puttur homestay attackPuttur, September 5, 2016: The Puttur Rural police have arrested five persons for allegedly threatening four college students at a home stay accommodation and then creating ruckus at the police station and assaulting two police constables on Saturday.

The police said that four persons, who are allegedly involved in criminal cases, trooped into the Green Valley Holiday home in Olamogaru village in Puttur taluk around noon. Four college students were celebrating at a birthday party at the holiday home. As the birthday boy was cutting the cake, the four intruders entered the party hall and started questioning them.

The police said that the intruders spoke in a rude way with the students and assaulted them. They also took photographs of the students. Puttur Rural Sub-Inspector of Police Abdul Khader rushed to the holiday home with a few constables and arrested Salam, Kadtimar Rafiq, Kadtimar Asif and Mohammed Mukthar. In the evening, Mohammed Mukthar’s brother Asikuddin Akhtar came with a group of people to the police station and is said to have threatened the Sub-Inspector.

When two constables tried to send them out, Akhtar and a few others assaulted them and fled the scene. The police managed to catch Akhtar.
