Fishing boat damaged at sea, sailors safe

Mangalore, May 30: B K fishing boat belonging to Abdul Thareef of Bengre was damaged near Alive Bagilu at 4:45 a.m. on May 30, Monday.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Thareef told Mangalore Today that the boat was sailing near Bengre with four people on board when its engine failed. Since the sea was rough and stormy, it could not be anchored, owing to which it was pushed deeper into the sea.

Fortunately, the four people on board the fishing boat are safe; but the boat itself has been damaged, with the estimated financial loss for the owner being Rs. 8 lakh.
