Fisheries College organizes 3-day Fishco Festival

 Mangalore, Feb 10, 2012  : The Fishco Festival commenced at the Fisheries College on Thursday, with forty colleges from all over the twin districts participating in it. The 3-day event comprises fine arts, literary, and cultural competitions.

Gurukiran, the Mangalore-based singer and music composer, inaugurated the students and urged them to be lively. He also sang two songs to entertain the students.

Prof. Ramachandra Bhatta, speaking on the occasion, said that the festival provides an opportunity for students from different colleges to meet and interact. He also said that this is the 25th festival of its kind and that Fishco Festivals are being held from 1982.

Students participated in collage, clay modeling, mad ads, folk dance, and Kannada lyrics competitions on Thursday.

Today, quiz, extempore, painting, debate, group dance, and classical dance competitions will be held. On Saturday, film song, western music, group song, mime, and variety entertainment programs will be held.
