First Neuro link: 38-year-old woman from Pilar in Someshwar Village test positive for Covid-19

dakshina kannada covid-19Mangaluru, May 13, 2020: With one more Covid-19 positive case reported from Mangaluru on Wednesday, the total count of cases has now shot up to 34 in Dakshina Kannada.

According to health department, a 38-year-old woman from
Daranda Bagilu near Pilar in Someshwar Village, who was initially placed under quarantine was tested postive today. She is said to have contracted the infection from P-507, an 80-year-old woman from Kulshekar, who was getting treated for some ailment at First Neuro hospital in Padil.

The authorities are preparing to enforce seal down in Daranda Bagilu area and the woman was shifted to Wenlock Hospital.


With this, the total active cases in DK has gone up to 17 and 34 people in the district have now been affected by Covid-19. Three patients have died so far while 14 have recovered and discharged from hospital. This includes six people from outside the district, who were successfully treated for the disease and discharged.
