Fire partially damages house at Arya Samaj Road

Mangalore, April 14, 2014: The first floor of a residential building at Arya Samaj Road was partially gutted in a fire mishap on April 13, Sunday.  The house belongs to Venkatraj who stayed in the ground floor.

 

 

Several gold and silver ornaments, cash of Rs 12,000, property records etc have been gutted in the fire.

A brother of Venkatraj who was staying in the first  floor had shifted a few days ago. The mishap is learnt to have taken place half an hour after Venkatraj’s brother visited the  house on Sunday.

A short circuit is suspected to be the cause of the fire. There is also a suspicion that rats which are aplenty in the house might have cut off some wire leading to short circuit. Fire service personnel rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire.
