Fire destroys tyre shop in Thokkottu Junction

Mangaluru, May 6, 2016: A tyre shop at Thokkottu Junction near Ullal was gutted in a fire mishap on May 65, Thursday evening.

The  shop owned by Abdul Rehman was located  near the REB Complex.   Several tyres, machinery and other goods inside the shop were destroyed in the fire. The mishap took place when the shop owner and staff were away.

The fire tender vehicles which rushed to the spot helped in putting out the fire and  preventing it from spreading to the nearby shops.

The mishap even affected traffic on the National Highway for some time. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
