Fire at chicken farm in Kasargod

Kasaragod, Mar 10, 2018: Around 3000 chickens are estimated to be  burnt alive after a chicken farm at Kundonguli caught fire. Aadira Poultry chicken farm owned by Chandran in Kundanguli caught fire and burnt alive most of the chicken in the farm.

The sheets covering the farm were covered with ‘soge’ to reduce the heat of the sun. It is believed that ‘soge’ first caught fire that spread throught the farm. The fire brigade was able to control the fire with help from the localities.

This fire disaster also  has burnt and injured 300 chicks. Pipe network for water and 85 bags of chicken feed have been completely destroyed. The loss incurred from this disaster amounts to more that Rs.11 lakh. The reason behind the fire is unclear and Bedadka police are investigating this incident.
