Finally, MCC elections announced, November 12

Mangaluru, Oct 21, 2019: Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) election will be held on November 12, finally the much speculated announcement has come officially, October 20, Sunday.

The announcement stated  that the election for MCC will be held on November 12 from 7 am to 5 pm and counting of votes will be done on November 14.

The notification will be communicated by DK DC on October 24 in this regard. Last date for filing of nomination is October 31. The nominations will be scrutinized on November 2. November 4 is the last date for withdrawal of nominations. The maximum amount a candidate can spend is Rs 3 lac.

Remove flexes, hoardings :

 In view of the announcement of election to the council of the Mangaluru City Corporation, MCC Commissioner Ajith Kumar Hegde has urged the concerned to remove all the flexes, hoardings and banners in MCC limits.  With the state Election Commission announcing the election, the model code of conduct has come into force on October 20, Sunday.

The flexes, hoardings, banners with the photo of political leaders, political parties in various wards in the Mangaluru City Corporation limits should be removed immediately, he has ordered.  The election to all the 60 wards of the Corporation will be held on November 12.
