Federation President B S Chandru who spoke to reporters here on May 10, Friday said the Circuit Bench  should be set up in Mangaluru on the lines of Gulbarga and Dharwad.

He said the Federation has been fighting for the cause since the past two years and has submitted memoranda to everyone right from the Chief Minister, Law Minister, Governor, Chief Justice and elected representatives. If the demand remains unfulfilled then protest will be inevitable, he added.

Padmanabha Ullal, Director of the Advisory Board of the Federation said the failure to revive water sources like lakes was the reason for the water problem in the district.

Vijaykumar Hegde, Honorary President of the Federation who also spoke said the  supply of water to industries without bothering about the carrying capacity of the district, has made the district feel the pinch of water problem during summer.  He urged the administration to use water from Lakya dam, to desalinate sea water and to make alternate arrangements for major industries. If the authorities fail to act, then  the Federation will fight through a PIL, he said.
