Federation Cup Athletics: Karnataka’s Deepamale clinches gold in 20 km walk

Mangaluru, May 2, 2015: Deepamale Devi of Karnataka  won the gold in Women’s 20 km walk  bringing cheers to the host state on Day 2 of the 19th Federation Cup Senior Athletics Championships underway at Mangala Stadium in Mangaluru. The 20 km walk was however held at Tannirbavi.

 

Deepamale clocked 1:44:29 to bag the gold, while Sandeep Kaur of Punjab  clinched the silver , her timing being 1:48:03. The bronze medal went to Priyanka of Uttar Pradesh (1:52:27).

 The morning session saw  other events including decathlon discus throw for men, 110 meter decathlon hurdles for men and decathlon pole vault for men.
