Farmer’s unique ‘tree-bike’ innovation impresses Anand Mahindra, asks team to market the device

Bantwal, June 20, 2019: Anand Mahindra, the chairman of Mahindra and Mahindra group is very active on twitter and this time he was seen praising the invention of Ganapathi Bhat, a farmer from Sajipamooda village of Bantwal, a region between Mangaluru and Puttur districts of Karnataka for his invention.

 

Anand Mahindra...In a retweet of ANI’s tweet, the Mumbai-based businessperson tagged the President of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd’s Farm Equipment Sector and suggested him to put a team to have a closer look at the invention so that they can market the machine if possible as a part of their Farm Solutions portfolio.


He also praised the effort of Mr. Ganpati Bhat, the farmer who invented this ‘tree-bike’ kind of machine and said that the invention was a very cool one. He further quoted that the device appears very effective and elegantly designed with minimum weight.

It is a notable fact that the farmers in the southern part of the country face a greater risk of falling to death while climbing the palm trees for harvesting. This invention attracted Anand Mahindra’s attention as it will help the farmers eliminate the risk if the machine is made readily available. Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd is a well known and trustable name in the sector of Farming Solution as it has achieved the highest customer satisfaction index (CSI) in the Farm Equipment industry at 88 per cent.

Earlier ANI tweeted a video about the invention in which the machine was seen working on palm trees and mentioned that the machine will help in climbing arecanut tree. The tweet also included a quote from the inventor Mr. Bhat: “It is simple innovation. The climber weighing on an average of 60 to 80 kilograms can climb up to 80 number of trees using just one liter of petrol on average. He said, “I gave priority to safety while developing the machine.”

The one and a half minute video in ANI’s tweet has already been viewed over 130,000 times and has received more than 9,100 like. it has been retweet more than 3,300 times including Anand Mahindra’s retweet.

Let’s hope Anand Mahindra’s concern gives palm farmers a new harvesting solution.
