Family members of slain RTI activist want a reinvestigation

Mangaluru, Mar 27, 2017: Reports are rife that slain RTI activist Vinayak Baliga’s sister Anuradha Baliga has filed an application before the Second Judicial Magistrate First Class Court here seeking reinvestigation into murder of the activist.

In the application filed last week,  Baliga accused police of not going deep into the murder of her brother. She said the police need to find all the persons allegedly involved in the conspiracy to murder her brother. The Magistrate has posted the case to April 22 for objection by the arrested persons.

The police have arrested Naresh Shenoy and six others in connection with the murder of Vinayak Baliga in Kodialbail on March 21, 2016.

The police have filed preliminary and supplementary chargesheets in the case.
