Fake job promises: Duo held for cheating many of crores of rupees

Kasargod, Mar 03, 2015:  Kasargod police have arrested two persons on the charges of cheating many of  crores of rupees after  making false promises to offer jobs with hefty pay packages in Singapore ships.

Fake jobThose arrested are Rakesh (28) from Uduma Palakunnu and Abdul Latif (35) from Mulleria Nettanige. Police are on the lookout for many more persons said to be involved in this racket.

The arrests could be made following a complaint lodged by  Sajith, Ajith and Avinash from Kasargod and three others from Tiruvananthapuram.

The complainants had alleged that the accused had demanded Rs 1.25 lakh per visa and  had asked them to pay nearly Rs 60,000  as advance. It has been gathered that many who were lured by the offer had paid the advance in November last year. However, when there was no hint of them getting any job  they demanded the money back only for the accused to  make a vanishing act.

Investigations are underway.
