Explosion in quarry ; woman dies, another injured

Kasargod Feb 1, 2015: An explosion in a quarry at Maniyammare near Perla on January 31, Saturday has claimed the life of a woman labourer while another woman sustained injuries.

The explosion occurred while the two were on work at the site.

It is said  stones and soil caved  in on the women, killing one of them identified as Seetha (40) of Badiadka Nellikatte.  The injured woman is Usha.

 

Locals allege that the quarry owner failed to ensure adequate precautionary measures at the site.
