Expedite Smart City Project works : DC tells officials

Mangaluru, Nov 22, 2019:  Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh has instructed officials to  expedite all works taken up under Smart City Project.

 

Presiding over an inter-departmental meet on Smart City Project at the MCC meeting hall on November 21, Thursday, she  expressed her displeasure over the  unsatisfactory progress  in  the development of some vital roads due to  land acquisition issues. She asked officials to complete the works  by hastening the land transfer under TDR.

With regard to the housing project for the homeless at Shaktinagar, the DC while pointing out  at the deemed forest issue, instructed officials to  solve the impasse  or find an alternate land to take up the project.

Mohammad Nazeer,  Managing Director of Smart City Project said   the officials will  consider dropping  the proposal to convert the road from Clock Tower upto RTO circle  into a one-way zone in view of the   Police Department  opposing the move.

MCC Commissioner Ajith Kumar Hegde was also present.
