Expectations at "Kreedotsava" of Vishwa Tuluvere Parba-2014 on December 13 and 14

Mangaluru, Nov 17, 2014:  Announcing the details at a press conference,   Vijaynath Vittal Shetty, the co-ordinator of Shasthavu Sri Bhoothanatheshwara Trust, said the event will move out of the temple, where it had been held annually for three years now, to a larger audience at the Tulu festival to be held at Sahyadri College Campus, Adyar, on the outskirts of the city. Over 21 individual, couple and group games will be held in five categories: children, men, women, mixed and open.


Tuluvere Parba...Carrying one’s wife to chicken races, from racing tyres to wrestling in the mud and showcasing ‘award-worthy’ abs, informal sports and village sports will come alive in ‘Kreedotsava’ that will be held during the Vishwa Tuluvere Parba-2014 on December 13 and 14.

The competition to figure : Ball games (for those below 5 years), tyre race, back balloon race and caterpillar race (below 14 years),

‘Thappangai’, where a coconut smeared with oil doubles as a ball, (below 18 years), arm wrestling, mud wrestling (for men), beedi rolling, tug-of-war (for 11-member groups of men or women), passing egg (seven-member teams of men and women), carrying wife (for couples), cock race and best decorated cock, cow race (for groups), among others. Cash prizes worth more than Rs. 4 lakh will be handed over at the games, said Mr. Shetty.

The trust will also host select episodes of their Tulu comedy show ‘Bale Telipaale’, where Prashamsa, and teams of Praveen Markame, Umesh and Deepak Rai will display their comedic flair.

Entry into the competitions is open for all and the forms can be obtained at: Shasthavu Sri Bhoothanatheshwara Temple, Mijar; office of Vijaynath Interiors and Exteriors Pvt. Ltd, Rambhavan Complex, Kodialbial, Mangalore; and Vishwa Tuluvere Parba 2014 Office at Urwa Stores.
