Ex- professor of Mangalore university dies in accident

Mangaluru, Aug 18, 2018: Jayagopal Uchil, founder-chairman of the Department of Materials Science, Mangalore University, died in a road accident on Hosur Road in Bengaluru on Friday. He was 75.

 

He is survived by his wife Jayasheela and two daughters.

The fatally injured Uchil was shifted to Greenfield’s Hospital, HSR Layout, where he died around 10.45 a.m.

According to family sources, the funeral will be on Sunday afternoon at Hebbal crematorium.

He was a former Dean of Faculty of Science and Technology of the university. Prof. Uchil was also a member of Senate, Syndicate and Academic Council of the university.
