Ex-Mayor’s son arrested for assaulting former MLA Bava

Mangaluru, Nov 01 2019: Police have arrested  former mayor Gulzar Banu’s son Azeem in connection with the case of alleged assault on former MLA  BA Mohiuddin Bava. The incident took place outside a hotel at Kodialbail where the Congress had announced the list of candidates for the upcoming MCC elections.

 

Just as Bava was coming out of the venue, Gulzar Banu’s supporters  had raised objection over the ticket given to Fathima B from Katipalla North ward. It is said during the melee Gulzar Banu’s son Azeem had hit Bava with his hand.

Following this incident, Bava’s  personal assistant Harris had lodged a complaint with the Kadri Police.
