Ex-MP Jayaprakash Hegde lends helping hand to family bereaved during foreign trip

Kundapur, Jun 18, 2019 :  The help extended by  senior politician and former MP K Jayaprakash Hegde to a bereaved family of Kundapur origin has  made it possible for the family to  bring back the  body of a woman who died enroute a foreign trip along with her husband.

 

Satish Kundapur and his wife Meera who hail from Kundapur and residents of Mumbai had  been on a  cruise tour to Spain in May, However, on May 24 when travelling near Barcelona Meera (55) had suffered a massive attack and died the same day.

But, the long list of procedures of that nation in bringing back the body to India, literally tested the patience of the family in  grief. Almost eight days were spent in furnishing documents. Finally Satish had contacted the Kalakshetra Kundapur Chief Kishore Kumar who  intimated Jayaprakash Hegde.  Hegde wasted no time in  contacting former external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj who  got in touch with officials and finally the mortal remains of Meera were handed over to the family on June 2. Subsequently the body was flown to Mumbai where the last rites were performed.

Meera has left behind her two sons and husband.
