Ethnic food on Konkan Railway to be introduced

Aug 06, 2015: As per  a release on Aug 5,  Konkan Railway has decided to introduce ethnic food stalls on all major railway stations on its route.

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu had issued instructions to explore the possibility of serving ethnic food to passengers travelling on the Konkan rail route, as it would help promote local products of self-help groups.  Accordingly, tenders were invited from reputed caterers to serve ethnic food on major stations on the route. The tender will be opened on September 3. Based on the outcome of the tender proceedings, the Konkan Railway will be able to fulfil its objective of serving ethnic food to passengers.  Public hopes that the step would make rail travel better.
