He was speaking after inaugurating a function held at the TMA Pai convention hall in connection with a Parisara Jatha organised on July 12, Friday under the aegis of the DK District Administration, Mangaluru City Corporation, Forest Department, Mangaluru Smart City Ltd, NSS unit of Mangalore University and Bharath Scouts and Guides.
Padmashree Saalumarada Thimmakka and Swami Ekagamyanandaji were honoured by presenting Environment Awards for the yeoman contributions towards protection of environment.
Meenakshi Shantigodu, ZP Chief presided over the function. District Pollution Control Officer Rajashekhar Puranik, DCF Dr A V Karikalan, Mangaluru Smart City Managing Director B H Narayanappa and others were present.
The Parisara jatha was inaugurated at Mangala Stadium by Third Additional District and Sessions Judge Muralidhar Pai.
