Joyston loboMangaluru, April 14, 2019: The enthusiasm of citizens, living in Mangaluru and abroad, is on the high as polling for Lok Sabha elections 2019 commenced on April 11. One such voter from Oman had made all his plans to fly to India to cast his vote. However, his excitement went down the hill when he came to know that his bookings were cancelled.

The man, identified as Joystan Lobo, had booked his ticket from Muscat to Mangaluru in late March to cast his vote for the Lok Sabha elections. Filled with zest, he made a video showing his ticket and shared it online to encourage his friends to go and vote.

However, Lobo’s ticket to home was cancelled within two hours of his sharing the video on March 30. One of Lobo’s friend in Puttur had shared the video on Whatsapp, Facebook, and other social media. While flaunting his ticket in the video, Lobo had expressed his support for a party candidate. The video reached an online spammer who took the details of Lobo’s flight to cancel his booking.

Lobo, who hails from Puttur, was completely unaware about the ticket’s cancellation until next day. On April 1, he re-booked his tickets to come to India on April 4.

According to reports, Lobo had paid Rs 21,045 for his round-trip tickets and got a refund of only Rs 9,000.
