Energy Dept to ensure transparency in recruitment process: Minister DK Shivakumar

Mangaluru, July 17, 2016: State Energy Minister DK Shivakumar has informed that the Energy Department would be soon appointing 10,000 staff to the KPTCL and MESCOM offices across the state in order to strengthen the Department.

Speaking after inaugurating a training programme named Abhishikshana organised by KPTCL and MESCOM at Kulshekhar Church premises on July 16, Saturday, the minister said there were plans to generate 200 mw of electricity through solar and wind energy in every taluk in order to achieve self-sufficiency in electricity.

He also stated that for the first time in the history of the Department 11,952 staff have been appointed  directly. There are even plans to hold online exams towards recruitment in order to ensure transparency in the process, the Minister added.

Javed Akhtar, Assistant Chief Secretary of the Government of Karnataka, Mallika Pakala, MESCOM Director, Chikkananjaiah, MD of MESCOM,  A S Radhakrishna, Director of KPTCL and others were present.
