Eminent director Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar releases documentary on Beary Language

Mangaluru, Dec 13, 2015: A documentary on Beary language brought out by the Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy was released by eminent Kannada film director Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar at a function held  at Town Hall on December 13, Sunday.  Several programmes of the Academy were also launched on the occasion.

In his address, Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar stressed the need for society to love and respect all languages. There is a need to protect our language and culture in this globalized era, he added.

 

Mangaluru South MLA JR Lobo who also spoke,  appreciated the initiative taken by the Beary Academy to organise various programmes that promote Beary literature, culture and language.

Duff instruments and uniforms were distributed to 40  teams from across the state, BM Haneef, senior journalist as well as director of the documentary and Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar were honoured on the occasion.

Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, President of DK District Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Roy Castelino, Konkani Academy President, K S Mohammad  Masood, former MLC and many others were present on the occasion.
