Ellur shrine burgled : Valuables worth lakhs stolen

Moodbidri, June 08, 2018: Thieves who broke into the famous Ellur Shree Vishweshwara Temple’s Veeranjaneya Sannidhi  on Thursday night have decamped with gold and silver  valuables worth several lakhs of rupees.

The theft came to light when the Temple priest Satyanarayana Acharya arrived  on Friday morning. The Anjaneya Gudi door was  broken and the silver plating of the idol of Anjaneya, the Prabhavali, golden chain and lamps were missing.

Finger print experts and Padubidri Police are at the spot.
