Election 2019: cVigil app to solve citizens’ complaints within 100 minutes - DC

Mangaluru, Feb 24, 2019: The Election Commission plans to introduce cVigil app during upcoming Lok Sabha elections to enable citizens to register their complaints get the problem solved within 100 minutes.

Deputy commissioner Sasikanth Senthil disclosed this to media persons today during a press meet at his office.  “Using cVigil app people can file complaint against violation of code of conduct. A flying squad will visit the spot within 10 minutes and verify the complaint. The matter will be solved within 100 minutes,” he said.

Regarding other electoral reforms, he said there is continuous effort to update the voters’ list. “We are focusing on young first time voters to get enrolled in the voters’ list. He urged people to verify if their names are on the voter list. This can done by approaching booth level officers or log on to www.http://ceokarnataka.kar.nic.in/.

He also said that six teams were being formed to educate voters about VVPAT and EVM. They will visit the polling station and speak to the voters, he said. SWEEP campaign will also be done to improve the urban voter turnout.

Revealing the latest figures, he said as of January 16, the DK district had 16,97,417 . The gender ratio is 8,33,719 are males for 8,63,698 females. 21,292 young voters have enrolled by that date and another 1,971 applications of young voters are in process.

A special drive conducted on February 23 resulted in 1,815 forms being collected under form number 6, 785 forms received under form number 7, 493 received under form number 8 and 4 applications under form no 8A, he said.
