Efforts to enhance facilities in govt schools : Kripa Alva

Mangaluru, May 30,2017 :  Kripa Alva, Chairperson of the Karnataka State Women and Child Protection  Commission has  said that she was happy to note that  no case of discrimination or atrocities on students have been reported from Dakshina Kannada district.

Speaking to reporters here at  Press Club on May 29 she said taking cognizance of the  sorry state of affairs in some government schools, an enhancement programme  wherein efforts would be made to provide basic facilities will be made.  Even the old students associations of different schools can come forward to help in this task, she added.

Kripa Alva said the Commission has succeeded in stopping  100 child marriages in Gulbarga and 70 in Belgaum. Two teams have been deputed to screen short films named ’Shaale Kade Nanna Nade’’ and "Ban on Child Marriage" in different parts of the state, she informed.

She stated that a standard operating procedure for POCSO will be introduced.
