Education must make students more humane : Fr Antony Serrao

Mangaluru, July 10, 2018:  The education system should lay more emphasis on  inculcating humanitarian values in children rather than mere concentrating on marks, said Rev Fr Antony Serrao, Secretary of Catholic Board of Education and Parish Priest of St Sebastian’s Church, Bendur.

 

 

 

 

 

He was speaking after inaugurating an Educational Conference organised at the Rosario Auditorium here on July 10, Tuesday under the aegis of Mangaluru City High School Headmasters and PU College Principals’ Association.

Meritorious students who scored high marks in 2018 SSLC exams as well as  heads of schools that registered 100 per cent results were honoured. Retired headmasters were also felicitated on the occasion.

Dr Jayaram Shetty of Sridevi Group of Institutions delivered the key note address. Y Shivaramaiah,  Deputy Director of Public Instructions , Aloysius D’Souza, President of Mangaluru City High School Headmasters and PU College Principals’ Association and others were present.
