Easter celebrated with joy and fervour

Mangalore, April 20, 2014: Easter is being celebrated with traditional enthusiasm and religious fervour in  the city and across the district by Christian brethren  on April 20, Sunday.  The festival marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The celebrations  began on April 18, Saturday  with Easter Vigil Masses. Thousand of faithful attended the masses in their parishes and lit  candles  highlighting the victory of light over darkness. There was also the blessing of fire and holy water and blessing of Pascal candle. The devout also chanted psalms and scripture.
