Duty and willingness vital, Jitakamananda swami releases books

Ujire, Aug 02, 2018: Speaking after releasing ‘Jnana Gange’ and ‘Jnana Tunge’, books on moral values published by Shathivana Trust for students at Dharmasthala,  Ramakrishna Mutt, Mangaluru President Jitakamananda Swamy said, “Performing duties will boost morality," .

He added “There won’t be satisfaction if performance of duty is viewed as a tedious process,” he added.  “Present educational system prepares children for jobs and intellectually builds. However, it fails to impart spiritual knowledge which is needed for happiness,”

“Every work must be performed with involvement and willingness. Prayer and meditation help perform duties well,” he said.

Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari  D Veerendra Heggade presided at the function.

“Sole purpose of education is overall personality development. Nobody should forget humanity. People should not be egoistic and respect others for harmonious living,” he said.

“Students should utilise opportunities and improve their knowledge,” he said.

The books published by Shanthivana Trust contain values which are necessary to lead a happy and fruitful life, Heggade stated.

Shantivana Trust has published 44 books during the last 25 years and one lakh copies of each book have been distributed to students.
