It is learnt the duo named  Vighnesh Kanchan and Sharath from Balikere near Kota had fled to Shivamogga and had taken shelter at a friend’s house after  the incident.

The fancy shop which was damaged was Mandara Fancy store owned by Praveen Gundmi and was located on Kodi Fisheries Road. Though initially it was suspected to be an accident, the traces of petrol found outside the shop gave room for doubts that  the shop was deliberately set on fire by someone

As the shop owner Praveen was a leader of a Hindu organisation, the police initially thought it to be the handiwork of  some group of another community as Praveen and his supporters had a   verbal altercation with a group of another community a few days ago.

It has been now learnt that the shop was set on fire with the hope that it would be thought to be an act of members of another community. Sources said the accused duo were promised liquor in return for the act by Abhishek said to be the mastermind.

Police are presently searching for the prime accused Abhishek and other accused namely Charan, Shashikumar and Bharath.
