Duo arrested for snatching bag of jewels

Mangaluru, Sep 06, 2018:  Suratkal Police have arrested two persons in connection with the case of robbing of a bag of gold ornaments  belonging to a woman near  the Mallamar Beach at Mukka on August 26. Police also seized  jewellery weighing 336.34 grams and valued at Rs 8.5 lakhs, a car worth Rs 2.5 lakhs and a two-wheeler valued at Rs 50,000 from the duo.

 

Those arrested are Muhammad Salman (26) from Kudroli and  Muhammad Hussain Tanveer (28) from B C Road, Kaikamba.

The  stolen jewellery belonged to a woman from Bajpe who had  visited the beach  on her way  home from a relative’s house at Chokkabettu. It is said the duo had noticed the woman removing the  jewels which she was wearing and  placing it in her bag . They had then snatched her bag and escaped.
