Dumped at roadsides, garbage irks Bantwal residents

Bantwal: June 18, 2015: A certain portion of Bantwal road seriously needs Prime Minister’s Swatch Bharat Abhiyan’s touch to rise from abyss of filth and dirt that it has landed in lately.

Blame it on lack of civic sense among the local residents or cleanliness measures by the civic body, huge amount of garbage has been lying unattended on the road from Sharada High School to SLNP School in Panemangaluru.


The wastewater sweeping out from the waste mound has also spread to the road, rendering it wet and smudgy.


The School authority gas pleaded the State environment minister B Ramanath Rai to clear the mound of Garbage as student who uses this road face difficulties.


Commuting on this stretch has become nothing less than a hellish experience. Apart from pungent stench emanating from the waste mound, dirty water spills on the road and is breeding ground of mosquitoes, raising the threat of vector-borne diseases" complained the locals.
