Drive against shrill horns : 60 buses penalized

Mangaluru, July 6,2017 :  Following several complaints from members of the general public,  the traffic police   inspected several buses  at the State Bank area  and slapped a total penalty amount of Rs 6000 on as many as 60 buses which were found to be using shrill horns.

The traffic police  also inspected the footboards of the buses following complaints that some of them were too high making it difficult for women, children and elderly people to board the buses.

In-charge Regional Transport Officer G S Hegde has said that  cases have also been registered against buses whose steps were found to be above 52 cms from the ground level.
