Dr Raghavendra Bhat of Balmatta Diagnostic Centre succumbs to heart attack

Mangaluru, Sep 12, 2019 : Senior radiologist Dr Raghavendra Bhat K. passed away this evening reportedly due to a massive heart attack. He was aged 65. He reportedly collapsed in his house and was rushed to KMC Hospital, Ambedkar Circle, where he breathed his last at about 5.00 p.m.

Dr. Raghavendra Bhat was a reputed radiologist of the city. He was the managing director of Balmatta Diagnostic & Research Centre Ltd., on Bridge Road, Balmatta. He has also been serving as the Senior Resident at the Department of Radio Diagnosis at A. J. institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre, Mangalore (AJIMS) since 2014. He is a former State President of Indian Radiological and Imaging Association (IRIA).

Dr. Raghavendra Bhat was born on January 13, 1954 and did his MBBS at Mysore Medical College in 1977. He did his DMRD at Bangalore Medical College in 1989.  Before joining AJIMS, he had served in teaching at Bangalore Medical College, Yenepoya Medical College and Father Muller Medical College.

Funeral details are yet to be finalized as his daughter is expected to arrive from USA. Cremation will likely take place on Saturday morning, according to sources.
