Dr. Heggade to inaugurate Dasara celebrations: CM

Mangalore, Aug 13: Chief Minister B. S. Yeddyurappa told reporters that Dharmasthala Dharmadikari Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade will be invited to inaugurate the Mysore Dasara celebrations after a meeting held in Mysore for the first time to discuss the Dasara celebrations.

Central Minister For Tourism Shelja will also be invited, said the CM, adding that Shikantadatta Narasimha Raja Wodeyar of the Mysore royal family will present the formal invitations.

Feeling proud of getting opportunities to inaugurate the dasara festival, Dr. Veeranda Heggade said that Karnataka is India’s model state for displaying immense tolerance, friendliness, and politeness in spite of its diversity in language and culture. Labeling the Dasara celebrations of Mysore as symbolic of the state’s culture, he said that it is also a model for the entire nation.

He declared that Mysore Dasara is the only celebration reflecting the culture of Karnataka and therefore is a festival of Karnataka.
