Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade attends conference on yoga for holistic health at New Delhi

New Delhi: June 21, 2015: Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr. D Veerendra Heggade on Sunday attended the International Conference on Yoga for Holistic Health in the national capital.

 

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi, who inaugurated the International Yoga Day celebrations in Delhi, dubbed the event as the beginning of a new era of peace and goodwill, thanking all those who have contributed to the development of the great discipline.

An estimated 40,000 people participated in the celebrations at Rajpath, with around two billion people taking part across the world.

The yoga celebrations are being organised after the United Nations had in December last year declared June 21 as International Yoga Day.

The proposal was mentioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address to the UN General Assembly last year.

The Minister for AYUSH (I/C) Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, the Minister of State for Finance Shri Jayant Sinha, and Yoga exponents Baba Ramdev and Dr Nagendra were present on the occasion.
