Double murder case - Panjimogeru residents demand arrest of murderer

Kulur, July 12, 2011:Some residents of Panjimogeru under the guidance of BJP Corporator Shantha R. organized a protest at Kulur Junction, demanding that strict action should be taken against the police personnel who tortured two Dalit teenagers in connection with the murder of Razia and her 8-year-old daughter Fathima.

 

 

 

 

In her protest address, Corporator Shantha said that the real murderer should be arrested. She said that some people disguised as policemen, arrested Saanu and Sunil, took them to a deserted place, and urged them to confess to a crime they did not commit. The boys were tortured and then dropped at Bikarnakatte, she said.

Alleging that the police had used a car belonging to Hameed, the husband of the deceased, she wanted to know why the police used Hameed’s car when the department had a number of vehicles.

The protestors also shouted slogans against the police.

They later submitted a memorandum demanding the early arrest of the real murderer and submitted it to the deputy commissioner of DK, the Mangalore police commissioner, and the inspector general of police of Civil Rights Enforcement Cell.
