Doctor, nurses test positive for Covid-19 : Sullia Govt Hospital sealed down for 2 days

Sullia, July 09, 2020:    The Government Hospital at Sullia has been sealed down for two days, effective from today after a total of six persons including a doctor and  three nurses have tested positive for Covid-19.

A person who was admitted to this particular hospital for treatment had tested positive a few days ago. The man was later admitted to the Covid-19 Hospital in Mangaluru. Meanwhile, the nurse who treated the person at the Sullia Hospital too had tested positive. Presently, a medical officer, three nurses and two technicians of dialysis unit have also tested positive for Coronavirus. Therefore the hospital has been sealed down on July 9 and 10.

Presently there are 19 in-patients here and they are being treated by a medical officer and three nurses.   Sanitization works will be undertaken at the hospital for two days and therefore no new admissions will be made. Even delivery cases and dialysis will not be undertaken, the hospital authorities have informed.
