District gears up to fight Coronavirus; precautionary measures in place

Mangaluru, March 14, 2020:    The District Administration has taken adequate precautionary measures  against Coronavirus.  Besides screening facilities  at New Mangaluru Port and Mangaluru International Airport suspected coronavirus infection cases are  tested at Wenlock and Ladygoschen Hospitals as well as six community health centres, 66 PHCs and four taluk hospitals.

 

The staff in these centres  have also been  provided proper training. Those arriving from overseas  can contact  104/1077 or 0824-2442590 in case they have cold symptoms as well as  breathing problems.

With the state government announcing a one-week shutdown of malls, theatres, public functions, private ceremonies well as declaring holidays for school and colleges,  on Friday evening there was quite  a rush at several places with people  busy buying essential commodities.

Meanwhile with  no outsiders or tourists arriving,  the hotel business is  quite low in the past few days.
