District and City Police Sports Meet held

Mangaluru, Dec 31, 2015: The two day sports meet of D K District and Mangalore City Police was held with a lot of enthusiasm at the police parade grounds in Pandeshwar here on December 28 & 29.

 

 

 

District police divisions of City Armed Reserve/District Armed Reserve, Mangaluru Central, Mangaluru South, Mangaluru North, Bantwal-Belthangady, Puttur and Women Police took part in the two-day sports meet.

This annual event hosted various athletic competitions or the men in Khaki promoting the building up of  team  spirit of sportsmanship. One observed retired policemen along with their families to witness the ceremony

and revive the old times.

DCP Shantharaj welcomed the gathering.IGP Amrit Paul and Manjula Bansal distributed the prizes to the winners. IGP Amrit Paul speaking on the occasion, “It is a good omen to see that family members of the police personnel have attended the sports meet with enthusiasm and pride”. Further he said that our police department is working very hard, and their work is very stressful. When we conduct such meets, it will help the police to forget about the stress. Systematically organizing sports meets will develop the competitiveness, discipline and sportsmen spirit.
