Mangaluru, June 22, 2015 : Minister for Environment and Forests B. Ramanath Rai, who is also the distrct in charge minister, individually did a two-hour long morning exercise June 21, Sunday apart from the public programme as was his regular habit. Official International Yoga Day programme at the T.M.A. Convention Centre at 8.30 a.m., Minister Rai arrived at the venue at 7 a.m.
Sporting a green and white striped T-shirt and a black track pants, Rai chose a corner in the hall to do his exercises, before the start of the programmes.
Among the exercises he did included stretching exercises with a stick. He walked a few steps by twisting his feet. He wore ankle and wrist weights each of 1 kg to give more traction for stretches.
He did yogasanas and ended his 90-minute work out just as officials and MLAs started to arrive at the venue. People familiar with him mentioned that the combination of physical exercises, yoga and breathing is his regular practice.
