Mangaluru, Aug 29, 2019: Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel who has taken charge as the new State President of the BJP was felicitated at a function organised by the District BJP at the TV Raman Pai Hall on August 29, Thursday.
Responding to the felicitation conferred on him, Nalin said BJP was a party where only dedicated efforts will yield results. Stating that he has no educational degree from any university, Nalin said the new responsibility handed over to him was like a doctorate for his dedicated works.
He said he was still an ordinary party worker for the people of the district. Pointing out that he has great responsibility on his shoulders, Nalin said just as Dakshina Kannada has become a stronghold of the BJP, it was his duty to ensure BJP gains further strong foothold across the state.
He said as State President of the party he will travel different parts of the state for six days while he will tour the district one day a week.
He also appealed to his critics not to criticise him in social media but instead visit his office and speak to him directly in case he erred.
MLA Angara, former MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik, Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, former minister Krishna Palemar, party leader Pratap Simha Nayak, MLAs Vedavyas Kamath, Bharath Shetty, Umanath Kotian, ZP Chief Meenakashi Shantigodu, ZP Vice President Kasturi Panja, MLA Haladi Srinivas Shetty, former MLA Yogish Bhat and others were present.
On this occasion Nalin fell at the feet of his Guru BK Ramesh and honoured him on the dais.
