District Administration to organise free Yoga camp on Sep 7

Mangaluru: September 2, 2015: Now, it’s the turn of Dakshina Kannada district administration to organize a free yoga camp for people.



The administration has planned an 18-day yoga camp, on the theme: Healthy life without diseases. The camp will be held in association with Ayush department of the state government. It was deputy commissioner A B Ibrahim’s special initiative that led to the yoga camp will be held at the taluk panchayat premises in the city from September 7.

Ibrahim said the district administration has decided to hold the camp in association with Ayush department with a view to make people lead a healthy lifestyle. "Our main objective is to make people live healthy without any diseases.

The free yoga camp organized by the district administration during the International Yoga Day celebrated on June 21 has evoked interest for yoga among a large number of people. Similarly, awareness on the significance of yoga has been created and people are requesting for more such programmes," he said. Based on public demand, we have decided to hold a yoga camp for the public, the DC said.

Ayush officials said that the camp will be held from 8.30am to 9.30am on all days except public holidays and weekends. Participants will have to register with the department of Ayush (0824- 2453063) to take part in the camp on or before September 4.

"Those who want to take part in the yoga camp need to reach the venue empty stomach. There is no restrictions of gender, caste and religion, but they need to be disciplined," an official said.
