Dist. Admn. files suo moto complaint against Nalin, Ananth Kumar for poll code violation

Mangalore, April 11, 2014:  The district administration has filed a suo moto complaint against  BJP leader and star campaigner Ananth Kumar and DK BJP candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel on April 10, Thursday for violating model code of conduct.

Speaking to reporters here AB Ibrahim, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer said the case was filed for violating the poll code during an interaction programme with students of NITK, Suratkal.

The DC said even the NITK Director has been asked to give an explanation.

The DC further informed that tally of votes will be displayed every hour on a notice board outside each of the 1766 polling booths in the district this time. He also stated that steps would be taken to ensure that all polling booths had basic facilities like drinking water, toilets  electricity  and ramp for physically disabled.

Webcasting: The DC also informed that 367 polling stations will have webcasting facilities on a trial basis. Over 400 students from 17 engineering colleges will help in this regard, he said.
