Dharnamma death case: Family’s non-co-operation delays probeHere it is worth mentioning that as per rules, a post mortem cannot be done unless  a body is claimed. The deceased woman hailed from Onadka in Hirebandady. It is said the police are not yet sure as to the exact cause of her death.

It is said Dharnamma while undergoing treatment at the local hospital had earlier told the doctors that her husband  Shivakumar from Madikeri had beaten her up leaving her in an unconscious state. However, when the police rushed to the spot to record her statement, she was not in a position to talk.

Sources said her parental family was against her as she had a love marriage. As a last option the police have pasted a  notice on the wall of their house  seeking their co-operation in the probe. Meanwhile, police have also failed to trace the whereabouts of Dharnamma’s husband Shivakumar.
