Dharmasthala ready to receive PM Modi, Security beefed up

Mangaluru, Oct 28, 2017 : Dharmasthala ready to receive Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is visiting the town on October 29, Sunday .Security has been beefed up ahead of his  visit. Even the police and security personnel have made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the event.

Modi will visit Dharmastala Shree Manjunatheshwara temple,  before taking part in a programme organized by the Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) in Ujire.

 

A team of 60 SPG officers led by SPG head MP Gupta are reviewing the security arrangements . Besides, more than 1,600 constables, nine police superintendents, three additional superintendents of police, 25 deputy superintendents of police, 50 circle inspectors, 150 assistant sub-inspectors besides home guards are camping at Dharmasthala.

Anti-Naxal Force (ANF) has begun the combing of Naxal-infested regions like Ujire, where Modi will participate in a programme after visiting Dharmasthala. 


Vehicles are barred from plying between Ujire and Dharmasthala between 9 a.m. on Sunday, while one can reach Ujire from Mudigere and Mangaluru without any obstruction. Around 60,000 self help group members are expecte to attend the programme at Ujire. Elaborate arrangements have been made for parking of vehicles, supply drinking water and lunch during the programme.
