Dharmasthala mass marriage : 102 couples tie nuptial knot

Belthangady, May 05, 2017 : A total of 102 couples entered into wedlock at the  46th annual mass marriage ceremony held at Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala on May 4, Thursday.

 

 Saree, dhoti, shawl , shirt and mangalasutra were distributed on behalf of the kshetra to the pairs.  A total of 11 inter-faith pairs also got married on the occasion.

Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade, his better half Hemavathi Heggade, DGP Kishore Chandra, Legislators K Abhayachandra Jain, Vasanth Bangera, sandalwood stars Yash and Radhika Pandit, CEO of Birla Corporation, Kolkata,  Sandeep Ranjan Ghosh were present among others and blessed the couple.

In his address, Dr Heggade wished a bright and prosperous future to the newlyweds and advised them to lead a life of harmony.

The mass marriages being held at Dharmasthala since 1972 have seen a total of 12,029 couples tie the nuptial knot. On Thursday the 12,000th  couple which entered wedlock - Kiran of Brahmavar and Sridevi of Karkala were honoured. Incidentally both of them are speech impaired.
