Dharmasthala in bloom for Heggade’s 48th ’pattabhisheka vardanthyotsava’

Dharmasthala, Oct 24, 2015: Aged 20 years, D Veerendra Kumar Nelyadibeedu, on October 24 in 1968, had assumed the title of Heggade and took over the responsibilities as the 21st Dharmadhikari of the Kshetra.   Dharmasthala, some 75-kms from Mangaluru, is today all decked up on the eve of 48th pattabhisheka vardanthyotsava of D Veerendra Heggade as the dharmadhikari of the Sri Kshetra.

Veerendra Hegg...There will be a day-long celebration and rituals that will mark this occasion. The entire temple town has been tastefully decorated ahead of the event.  Scores of devotees of the temple are expected to descend on the town for the celebration. They will offer Veerendra Heggade fruits and flowers to express their devotion and reverence to him.

The important land marks in the town namely Bhagwan Sri Chandranath Swami Basadi, Sri Manjunatha Swami Temple, Beedu - residence of Heggade have been tastefully decorated in various hues. Special prayers will be held in the basadi as well as the temple. Competitions have been conducted for temple employees in this connection. Veerendra Heggade will felicitate senior employees.  K Byrappa, vice-chancellor, Mangalore University will deliver the felicitation address at the function that will be held at Mahotsava Bhavan at 5pm.
