Dharmasthala Laksha Deepotsava celebrations begins, today

Belthangady, Nov 24, 2016: The annual Laksha Deepotsava celebrations will begin at Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala from today November 24, Thursday. The relegious celebrations will be  held at  for six days till November 29.

A Sarva Dharma Sammelan and Sahitya Sammelan will also be organised. The former judge of the Supreme Court V. Gopala Gowda will inaugurate the ‘sarva dharma sammelana’ at 5 p.m. As part of the Laksha Deepotsava celebrations there will be Hosakatte Utsav everyday from 9 pm onwards. Gram Panchayat president Meenakshi Shantigodu will inaugurate the 39th state level exhibition at Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara high school ground. An exhibition will be organised on the premises of Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheswara High School from November 24 to November 29 will remain open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.


The annual ‘sarva dharma’ and ‘sahitya sammelans’ would be conducted on November 27 and November 28, respectively.


A variety of programmes including devotional and light music concerts will be held in the evenings. Phakeera Siddarama Swami of Shirahatti will be presiding over the city. Jayakumar Upadhye of Delhi, Jabbar Samo, a Yakshagana artiste and Prashanth D’Souza, director, Vidyaniketan, Dharwad will be present. Gayathir Girish of Chennai will present a Carnatic music concert.
